Aim The aim of this course is to qualify participants to enter and work in a confined
space.
Description The Confined Space Full Course is designed for persons who are required to enter and work in confined spaces, or managers/ employees required to The course provides participants with the OH&S and legislative requirements and procedures to ensure the health and safety of any persons required to work in confined spaces. Safe entry and work in a confined space also involves emergency response considerations (including first aid), use of personal protective equipment and fire fighting.

Unit/s of Competence
 (PMAPER205A) Enter Confined Space – This unit covers the control of entry to confined spaces, for maintenance or other necessary reasons. It is expected that
both the person entering the confined space and the standby person will be
competent to enter confined spaces. It incorporates the preparation prior to entry,
selecting suitable safety equipment, controlling entry and rescue of a person in a
confined space.

(PMAPER200B) Work in accordance with an issued permit – This competency
aims to ensure that people working under a permit to work understand the system,
know the limitations of the permit under which they’re working and comply with all the requirements of the permit.
 Accreditation Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a Risk Response &
Rescue Certificate as well as a Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment.

Pre-Requisites
There are no specific pre-requisites to this course however participants should
ensure they are able to collect information, complete basic documentations, work as a team and be able to participate in practical activities.
 Assessment Participants must be able to identify a confined space, identify hazards and risks and detail safe entry and work requirements. They must also be able to operate whilst wearing protective equipment and explain emergency response procedures. Both written and practical assessment will be conducted.
