Specific solutions for tower crane evacuation, rescue of injured casualties by stretcher, container top working, rescue from ladder ways and entry into confined spaces.

Falls from containers and the tops of vehicles are significant work at height issues in ports. There is also a need for proper rescue and evacuation facilities from cranes.

If fall arrest equipment is being used always choose the method that minimises the length and consequences of the fall. An example of this are temporary vertical lifelines on ladder ways, which can be removed when the work has been completed.

Retractable fall arrest blocks are not suitable for preventing falls over edges.
