Problem
Large ducting & pipe work had to be removed from the façade of a 7 storey building due to renovations of the property. The ducting & pipe work could not be lowered directly to the ground due to another property adjoining the building.
Solution
The Ducting & pipe work had to be cut & lifted out by a crawler crane which had been positioned on the roof by a 50 tonne mobile crane from street level. A team of 2 Level 3 Rope Access Technicians & Advanced Riggers performed the work by setting up ropes to the above roof. Then descending down slinging the objects for the crane hook to attach to & then cutting away the ducting & pipe work. Before directing the crane to lift out
Skills needed to complete the task
Rope Access level 3 for descending & ascending
Advanced Rigging for slinging the load & directing the crane
